Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

The best aluminum frames...

Who's making the best aluminum frames today?

And, "what" defines a top quality aluminum frame (for racing)?

My vote goes with Cervelo because of my SLT.

Caad also comes to mind.

Weight, aero-ness, stiffness?

Eh.

They all seem to be about equal at similar price points.

It would seem you're looking for validation that the Caad was the best choice.
Just sayin'

Spooky Skeletor gets my vote. Any frame with that name has to be the best. The Havoc Staff version is BB30.

2011 Allez Comp is good, but when I rode that back to back with the 2011 CAAD10-4, the latter wins hands down. CAAD9/10

spooky-overpriced and average quality, nice geometry
cervelo-no longer in existance
specialized allez-good value for money, ace geometry, tapered
canyon- overpriced but magnificent
BMC- wrong geometry
Cannondale- nice hydroforming

Currently ride an SworksE5, don't think I'd ride aluminum if I didn't race

my list (including out of production stuff) barring price is something like: Canyon, Sworks E5, S1, 2011 Allez or CAAD10/9.
