New bike day

After some struggles to get this build going it was completed about a week and a half ago. It had some other issues due to headset compatability but I have been able to to ride it a little since that was fixed (<100 miles), but I have an organized century ride on Saturday and I'm excited to ride it. 2016 Trek Emonda SL frame, Shimano 105 R7000 group set, HED Ardennes+ Black wheels. They make a clydesdale version of this wheel as well, I really like them. They are low pressure (I'm running 75 psi front/80 psi rear), wide width and they feel silky smooth on the road. And yes, the chain is black, not dirty. I'm looking for a black rear cassette to finish it off, maybe next year. My wife said the cassette sticks out like a sore thumb.

Good looking rig. Good luck sourcing an all black cassette. You can get a new silver one and get it anodized if you can’t find a black one with the right gearing. That nose down seat angle makes my wrists hurt just looking at it but if it works for you, go for it. Gotta love New Bike Day!

Fortunately Sun Race makes black 11-speed cassettes. I'm not allowed to spend any more money on my bike this year though. I've had a Sun Race cassette on my old bike for well over 2,000 miles.

As for the saddle, it's a bit deceptive. It is an ISM saddle which I do have slightly tilted forward. Look at the rails not the saddle itself. It has a place where your sit bones slide into basically. I have major perineum issues and this has worked out great. I wouldn't be riding at all if it weren't for these saddles. I don't feel like I am going to slide off the saddle at all and can ride hands free with no problems.

Don’t worry about the cassette, a couple of months not cleaning it will make blend in.

Enjoy the new toy.
