Assume that's the one in pioneer square (near the stadiums), as I doubt the capitol hill location has outdoor seating.

I dropped off my car at Bob's in North Bend this afternoon. Forecast suggested tomorrow would have a higher chance of rain than today. Maybe so - but I still got drenched all the way from Preston to Redmond. I found out that (1) I won't melt and (2) once you've resigned yourself and have compensated for increased braking distances, riding in the wet can be somewhat fun - even without fenders. So if it rains - I know it's hard to believe coming from me - I'm still in.

I'll clean up my bike tomorrow.

North Bend Bar and Grill in Northbend. Best guess is 6ish, just head to the bar and start drinking beer, we'll show up eventually.

That is definitely the hilly way to do it. Thankfully tomorrow, we aren't doing that--wouldn't want to upset a good lunch!

The Gang starts to gather

Jim and Bob took the overnight train from California, I picked them up at Union Station in the afternoon. @nlerner's plane was 3 hours late, which got him into PDX about the same time as the train. @SquireBlack lives on the east side of the river, and volunteered to drive over to pick Neal up. I took my two over to the Atelier, @SquireBlack took @nlerner to his house where Neal put his bike back together, then rode the 12 or so miles over the river to the west side to meet up with the rest of us. Myself, Jim, Bob, Neal and @Andy_K met up for dinner at a local brewing establishment near my house.

starting upper right, clockwise: Andy, Jim, yours truly, Bob and Neal

SquireBlack's wife wanted some 1:1 time before leaving, so he supped with her. At the end of the evening Bob and Neal, who are neighbors in Brookline, Mass drove their bikes and my pickup back across the river where they are being hosted by SquireBlack. As if this is not complicated enough to follow, SquireBlack's name is Andrew, and we've already got an Andy in the picture. Oh, and @Spaghetti Legs (Hugh) is flying out in the morning directly to Seattle. Andy (not Andrew) is riding Hugh's bike (which Hugh has never ridden) to the train station to ferry it up to Seattle.

Like I wrote earlier, I somehow like to overcomplicate things, just for fun. What could possibly go wrong?

Weather is perfect. I'm heading out to meet up with @SurferRosa in about 2 hours. We'll be riding part of the Burke Gilman trail to the station together. I figure it's best to meet at the station rather than Elysian because I know where the station is.

See y'all soon.

Guess what?

Hugh’s Crank Brothers pedal gave up the ghost. Anybody have a loaner set that can make it to Elysian Fields by noon or so?

I have spare pedals of the clip/strap variety. What can he work with?

My car drop plans didn't materialize, I'm back to a partial day of riding. Strangely, no one wants to drive for 4 hours on Sunday morning.
