The most exciting gravel bike for 2020 is...

Notices
Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

The most exciting gravel bike for 2020 is...

The most exciting gravel bike is the one you are currently riding

That BMC urs looks like a great bike until you see the price. If I were going to plunk money on a gravel bike, I'd go for a Salsa Journeyman or a Sonder Al Camino.

Holy cow! Trek has the Domane SL 6 Disc with close-out pricing and I was planning on stopping by my LBS to take a test ride. They have a 52 & 54 in stock but I'm going to hold off now. I like the looks except for whatever is going on with the seat post thingy.

This photo was just quietly posted on a Facebook group, and only a couple of people commented. But I wanted to snap a screenshot before it disappeared. It probably deserves it's own thread in the Road Cycling forum, but oh well.

Yeah, this is quite a departure from the previous design. I almost didn't believe it was a Domane, but compared this photo to the Madone and Emonda, and it's definitely not one of those. This one looks like a Dura-Ace model, so definitely SLR, if that designation still exists. Hopefully the less expensive 500 series carbon versions still have this look.

I'll be curious to see if this actually fits 38mm tires, as the post above suggests. If it does, it's kind of a magical unicorn of bikes.

Also, this is a similar color scheme to the 2020 Domane+ ebike, so that lends credit to this being a 2020 Domane.

Has anyone spent any time on the Topstone Carbon? Im between that and the new Stigmata. Coming from a gen 1 Diverge. It's been a great bike but the tire clearance limitations have me looking for something that can handle a 40.

I think that Devinci has a very strong contender with its new Hatchet bike (https://bikerumor.com/2019/08/17/dev...s-more-mounts/). Tire clearance for 700x50c and 650bx2,4 achieved with 430mm chainstays is very impressive.

So it looks like jamis renegade 2020 will be quite similar to the current model - two noticable changes are slightly bigger tire clearance (aparat from carbon version) and Grx groupset. https://www.81496.com/jouhou/road/ja...jamis2020.html

Interesting build.
Never looked at the geometry before- thats some crazy low stack height in the XL frame. A 6'5 - 6'7 cyclist riding a frame with 615mm stack height is gettin after it to say the least.
And pairing a 71deg HTA with a 110mm stem since the reach is only 402mm...huh.

Really good build for the price though.

It is very cool. I've seen the older version for sale on Merlin Cycles for a very good price.

But many people have had bottom bracket issues with 3T bikes, and there is really very little shop support in the U.S. Personally, I haven't brought a bike in to a shop for service since the 1980's (I do all of my own work), but press-fit bottom bracket problems are annoying for a home mechanic as well.

My road bike is being replaced under warranty, so I did a 100% paved century on the 2020 Stigmata. Lazily left it in dirt mode with Redshift stem, 44mm tires, frame bag and SPD pedals. It was a route I've done many times on fairly high end much lighter road bikes, and I rode it in about the same mode/effort, finishing close to my usual times. It felt awesome. While the big climbs were not as fast, the higher bars and overall cush paid off late in the ride. I was sitting so comfy I didn't need my first stop until mile 80. Santa Cruz did well with this one.

Maybe I 'need' just one drop bar bike (with only one wheelset)!

Let me explain it to you. Tires are getting near 2 inches. Big pie plates in the rear. Just needs flat bars and you are riding a rigid MTB.

Pressfit bottom bracket problems mainly are seen on less expensive frames where tight manufacturing tolerances are not maintained, or from mechanics that do not follow installation procedures and use the proper locktite compound and presses when assembling them. We see pressfit problems only rarely on well made bikes and we have ALWAYS been able to fix the problem with either a removal and refit or a replacement of the bottom brackets. Pressfit problems on cheap bikes do occur when the manufacturer does not hold proper tolerances. We sell 3Tat our shop and offer complete support like any 3T authorized dealer would do. You can buy a 3T with full confidence in the bike and authorized dealer. And it is an OUTSTANDING ride if you like winning races!

Made me think of the new Trek Supercaliber 9.8. Buy the frame and build it with dropbars. 20-23 lbs depending on build.
