Your right, rattling around doesn't quickly render a helmet ineffective. But that really wasn't the point.
Again, if you see the value in a helmet to protect your skull, you take care of it and keep it on your head. If you don't see it as valuable, than leave it at home or simply don't buy one.

I just don't like arguments based on faulty premises and posting pictures of strangers as examples to be chided.

It doesn't hurt me if you decide to ride without a helmet. Just as long as I don't see you fall and ride through the mess. Just like if you drive without a seatbelt and get ejected through the windshield... i've seen that.
I do wear safety goggles when working on the lawn with power equipment to prevent something hitting my eyes. I also wear gloves to protect my hands. I also own other safety equipment and where them when I feel they are needed. I know many people that own nothing. They also smoke, drink too much and other unhealthy things. It's their choice, I just don't want to have to pay for their healthcare when their choices catch up with them.

You're personal perspective and hairsplitting has been duly noted. Thanks!

I'll be sure to avoid mocking you with your helmet hanging on your handlebars.
