Time to update the thread. Thank you all for all the valuable inputs. I finally bought the 2018 Specialized Diverge Comp E5 model. I have ridden it on 40-50 mile routes a few times, plus my commutes. So far, I like the bike!
I also bought fenders, a handlebar bag and a saddle bag along with the bike. An Origin8 Eyelet stub is on its way, that should allow me to mount the light on the braze-on.
I have signed up for New England Randonneurs' 300K ride on Saturday. Let's see how that goes.
