High data use when on this site on desk top ?

Using phone to send this.

Couple times my computer gave warning that this site is using high amount of data

Now , very slow typing response , slow response when downloading topics,& data lights r are churning when on desktop just posting.

No sure why, But phone is better.?
on couple other forums & not have this problem.
makes me wonder what’s going on & if there a fix?

It's probably one of the many javascript ad-ons that they have installed that aren't being monitored by the devs or dev leaders.

Went into preferences,

But some site features not available, but am ok with that.

Screen looks similar to Mobil site

Once you have loaded the page it calms down quite a bit. You may be mistaking that for 'javascript'.

And I'm a Ti Club member so I don't have ads loading.

Yea
have no idea,
use ph most of the time , unlimited data on it.

upload pics, computer easier for me.
can click java on & off pretty easy.
Dont want, need all the cookies & adds that
are loading while on the site + slows down typing & loading different posts/topics.

seems adds & cookies have higher priority than
postings

What I think you have misunderstood is that those ads are not stored on the BF server, they come from ad networks.

Cookies
are present on every site you visit, and without them your device/computer browser wouldn't remember where you went and take you back, all your login details wouldn't stick and stuff wouldn't work. Cookies are not evil, and even if you browse 'anonymously' your ISP and the site know you were there. There is no real anonymity for most.

So loading ads is only as fast as they can be retrieved from the network.

And how they load on your mobile device/phone is going to be different from how they load on a PC. Different operating systems/browsers, the method how they get to your phone, all are different. The platform has to be written to display on all of these devices as well as PC and Mac.

The only way they could be equal between the different systems is if your mobile device had the same aspect screen and a decent size for viewing.

Phones are too small for that so you'll always get 'pan and scan'..there is no way around this...unless you use a PC or laptop, maybe a tablet.

getting junk emails the next day on the
search topic.

Yea
anonymity a useless quest

just that im paying for the data
that venders , sales ads are using
&
not much I can do to stop them

You can always purchase a premium membership (Ti, that yellow jacket icon) and the ads are GONE.

I know I sound like an ad but if that doesn't do it, it's your phone and network, I'm just saying.

At least get some security software, it's a myth that mobiles are immune to malware.

Thanks
Thinking about it.
$12 for 1 —- $20 for 2 years not bad.
