Need help deciding.

I have a dilema, looking into buying a bike, mi dilema is I lookt at a kona heihei trail at my local shop for $2300 even though it has an entry leve shock with 140mm travel, not sure if is a good deal, or should I go for the trek ex 8 or Santa Cruz 5010 for 1100 to 1200 more? The other thing is am trying to stay around the 3000 range, any suggestions? I have a hardtail gt, and most of my riding is with friends, am 46 years old and 5, 8, I want to be able to climb better, I don't have to many problems going down. Also does anyone knows of a very good deal out there, and which shops online are good to shop at? In case I can't find what I want local. Thanks in advance.

Regarding the Kona Hei Hei..... I wouldn't refer to Rocshock FS 140mm "entry level"
You need to decide what your riding style and terrain is. XC, Trail, Enduro, Downhill.
That bike looks like Enduro-AllMountain to me.

Ok, but would you spend the extra 1100, or would you go for something like this.

29 or 27.5 Trek is 29r. Kona 27.5
Go test all the bikes before purchasing.

I thought the Kona and Trek were 29r and I'm sure the 5010 is a 27.5

OP, as mentioned, what type of trails are you riding? Where you located? Imo, 130-140 travel is the gateway to fun if you only have one full squish.
