Versus Coverage of Tour of California
So, I was browsing the Versus site looking for cycling details, and what to mine wondering eyes did appear, but the ToC schedule. I don't recall seeing anyone posting anything about the exact coverage times - so here they are:
Linky
2/18/2007 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm TOUR OF CALIFORNIA
2/19/2007 12:00 am - 1:00 am TOUR OF CALIFORNIA
2/19/2007 10:00 pm - 11:00 pm TOUR OF CALIFORNIA
2/20/2007 10:00 pm - 11:00 pm TOUR OF CALIFORNIA
2/21/2007 11:00 pm - 12:00 am TOUR OF CALIFORNIA
2/22/2007 11:00 pm - 12:00 am TOUR OF CALIFORNIA
2/23/2007 11:00 pm - 12:00 am TOUR OF CALIFORNIA
2/24/2007 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm TOUR OF CALIFORNIA
2/25/2007 12:00 am - 1:00 am TOUR OF CALIFORNIA
2/25/2007 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm TOUR OF CALIFORNIA
2/26/2007 12:00 am - 1:00 am TOUR OF CALIFORNIA
I'm getting knee surgery on the 8th, so I've got a month off work. I should be back to sloooow low resistance spinning on the trainer by the 21st, so I'll have lots of time to take in the coverage. Might be time to invest in a DVR/DVD-Burner hookup for the TV.

>>I'm getting knee surgery on the 8th, so I've got a month off work. <<
In 1989 I had an ACL reconstruction and was given 4 weeks to recover. After two weeks in bed sucking down Percoset and then Advil I said F this action, suited up and returned to my job as a Mercedes Benz salesman. We had a showroom with three flights of stairs to get to the roof parking lot to retrieve cars for test rides with customers. I was sailing up and down those bad boys on crutches in no time.
Beats the hell out of lying in bed. But in those days I didn't have Versus cycling TV to entertain me. I might have stayed home in that case.
And it was the rehab from that injury (starting with cycling about 6 weeks after the surgery) that led to my cycling addiction 18 years ago. Good luck with your surgery and rehab....

That is one ambitious schedule that adds up to 14 hours of coverage.
And think for a moment about what that crew will be accomplishing:
The race ends at about 6pm e.s.t., and they'll have it edited with stand-ups, titles and music, and trimmed to fit and on the air by 10pm in some cases.
First of all, those crews won't see the light of day outside of their compound for the entire week.
Secondly, each day, they've got to compress a 5 hour event into 40 minutes and have it make as much sense as possible.
I don't want to read anyone whining about them missing something or showing the wrong stuff or showing it at 11pm. I say it's a remarkable feat, and I can't wait to watch them work, and then watch their work.

I'm very fortunate to be driving one of the UCI Commissaires. Comm 3 or Comm 4.
Thankfully, I'll be in a car. The weather may not be as great as it was last year.

Hey,
I don't know if anyone else has seen this so I thought I would ask here.
I am setting up my DVR to record the tour this week, but some of the times it is coming up with don't jive with the schedule on the official website. Has anyone else noticed this?
