Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Pcad is an Ibis Shill

https://www.ibiscycles.com

Pcad is an Ibis Shill.

Why? Because Ibis bicycles ROCK that's why. Why? Because half of you weenies think an Ibis is a flightless bird. Correct. But also a cutting edge bicycle company. Scott Nicol, the brains behind Ibis, has been building amazing bicycles for 20+ years. Why? Because half of you have never even heard of these bikes, they get like zero press anymore, but then when some magazine DOES review one of their bikes (any of them) they're all like 'wow, this is the best bike we've ever tested'. Duh. Pcad's doing BF community service.

Why? Because some companies need and deserve shills.

I ride a 1995 Ibis Titanium road. AMAZING bicycle. Certainly the best bike I'll ever have in most respects, and after 12 years, I expect to ride it another 12. Or more. Today Scott builds all CF bikes, so too late for you to buy an Ibis Ti. Too bad. But from all reports, the CF models are rather amazing too. And VERY reasonably priced these days. They are among the best bikes on the planet. They are however, cheaper than bikes they are superior to.

No need to thank me, just check out their website. Bikes Direct. God help us.

I rode an Ibis softtail MTB once with the flexy chainstay pivot (without a pivot bearing.) They make cool and revolutionary stuff. Are they not making bikes anymore? They kind of dropped off the face of the earth.

The Bow Ti was beautiful. Too bad they're not making Ti bikes now.

Hate to break it to you but Ibises are not flightless birds. They fly and migrate just like every other flying, migrating bird.

As far as the bikes - nice in the 90s, another Taiwanese CF bike these days milking a glorious brand.

Incorrect. An Ibis is NOT a flightless bird. They fly very well.

I like the new Silk SL. Reminds me of the ADK RS a bit. Decent frame.

Pcad,

You may know tons about bikes, but you need to learn the definition of 'shill'

The bikes look great.

Like this bit from the website about the Sram Red -

"Uh, does a complete bike weight of 14 lbs sound good to you? That’s 6.36KG for you metric lovers. You can eat more dessert if you buy this bike. Simply Red"

Ibis is a local company here in the bay area. Their mt bikes have really taken off in the past year. One of the owners of the company works out at the gym I go too. I didnt even know they do road bikes. Ill have to ask him about a trial ride.
