I would think the Archetype is a little stiffer, as a rim with even a slightly aero profile will typically be more rigid than a box-section rim.

No. The 2013 frameset is only available in lavender and the complete is only available in gold.

I want an opinion about my 2010 Schwinn Madison. I just got it for $200 in great shape. I want to ride single speed with front and rear brakes (not ready to ride fixed) with bullhorns and use cross top levers (Dirty Harry's). Is this efficient or should I go with the bar end levers? Also, what's the best set of bars for this bike? The guy I bought it from used mountain bike bars. Will bullhorns be less stable?

Almighty Scrodzilla might I have some help with this huge decision I'm about to make? I currently have a TT Pro that I love. Ohio doesn't have the best of weather so I need a foul weather bike. Should I scrap together an old steel roadie and keep the Kilo as my "nice" bike or turn the kilo into my foul weather and build up a Pake 75 as my NICE bike? Either way it'll be a "shut up and take my money!" situation. Happy New Years and cheers!

You read my mind exactly! Your Raleigh is where I got the idea for the old roadie beater. Any roadie you recommend that will fit at least 28's with fenders? Gonna run it singlespeed for a while so brakes will make a clearance difference also.

Just about any old budget steel road frame should have clearance for pretty big tires.

this might sound silly but would i be able to run the sram courier crankset on a conversion with 125 rear spacing or would the chainline difference be to severe?

As long as you'll be using a standard track hub (regardless of how it's spaced) and the correct BB, your frame has nothing to do with chainline if it has a 68mm BB shell.
Think about it - chainline is measured from the center of the hub and center of the bottom bracket.

I'm working with my vigorelli's the drive chain, and I was wondering if my omniums and miche primato rear hub will give me a 42mm chainline?... so far, that's what i've been reading, and it looks okay too (yet to be measured)...
if that's not the issue, my newly purchased izumi ECO chain seems to be rather noisy, like a roulette wheel.. even when properly tensioned and lubed. Do you happen to have any suggestions?
