Hello from Western North Carolina
Hello all! After lurking for a week, I am now an official member of Bike Forums. I live in Western North Carolina, where all our road rides involve about 1000 ft. of climbing for every 10 miles. Living here, you have to love climbing, or at least tolerate it! Fortunately for me, I love to climb, on road or mountain bikes. I have a garage full of road and mountain bikes ranging from 1988 to 2015. I started mountain biking in 1980, when I lived in Crested Butte, CO. Back then there was no such thing as a "mountain bike". We called them Klunkers. Back in those days I met such mountain bike legends as Gary Fisher, Tom Ritchey, Joe Breeze, Charlie Cunningham, Charley Kelly, and many others. They came to Crested Butte every summer and brought their technology with them. Soon we too were riding around on old pre-war Schwins (or some other old steel fat tire frame) with 5 speed derailleurs on the back! I began road riding in 1995 with a Trek 1400 and upgraded over the years as funds would permit. My current road bike is a Specialized Tarmac. I recently acquired what I believe to be a Colnago Master Piu, probably from the late 80's. I'm looking forward to getting my 10 posts in so I can put up pictures of it for some help with positive identification!

Hi there
Hi Keith,
Welcome to you too.
Seems like a fun place to hang out.
I had questions during the rebuild of my bike. They went unanswered for a whole 5mins!
Helpful bunch
All the Best
