Velosport Image 1982 Full Dura Ace ax group
Thought I would post this just because of the high quality images that accompany the ad.
Imgur: The most awesome images on the Internet
I'm not sure if I would buy it for a bit less money and a bit closer to home - tempted to look into it, it's my size. The AX group is a bit weird for me and of course the paint is pretty poor.
Still, an interesting Cdn built bike.

Actually it's a 1983 model and I believe it was only assembled in Canada. The rims are replacements for the OEM Araya and it's got ill fitting replacement brake hoods too. Non-OEM bar tape and hand carved or jerry rigged brake pads. These frames rode softer than their combination of Tange #2 and geometry would suggest. Perhaps they weren't full Tange #2.

You can get adapters for the crank on Ebay for around $20 plus shipping. I just picked up a Fuji with that crank and I can't decide if I should spring for the adapters or just change the crank. Leaning towards changing the crank as the easy solution.

Besides being relatively inexpensive, the new aftermarket adapters are better than the original Shimano version because they are lower profile and don't affect the Q-factors as much. Still, the Dyna-Drive pedals were one of the best features of group, proving an extremely stable platform. I wouldn't get rid of them, unless the races are worn.

Pretty interesting group, alright. Pretty clumsy build, though. Sloppy hoods, duct tape shim on handlebars (apparently ineffective, from angle of those things) duct tape chain slap protector.

Hello Mr T-Mar You seem to know about this frame and bike and wondering if the bike I posted was a Image rather that a Mirage . I am putting together a list of the things that I will replace. The brake hoods look like they are available and I am also thinking of changing the shifters to dura ace ax rather than the 6oo ax . I don't know why they would have put the 600ax when the rest of the bike has all dura- ace ax . Inquiring mind wants to know. Thanks for your time .
