Carbon Fork for a light trail

Hi there

I currenty own a road bike that I use to commute to work "25 miles round trip, give or take" and for weekend solo rides.
I'm fortunate to have a nice trail just around the corner that goes all the way down to my work places, so for the hotter/humid days 95/95 and weekends I was planning to ride on this trail.

I was thinking of buying a Cannondale Quick 4 or 5, both has rigid forks, the 4 have a carbon fork and the 5 got a CroMo "I think".
I was never a fan of suspensions on the road, but I don't know if they would make any difference on a trail like this or not.
Do you guys think dale quick would be a good idea for riding in a trail like that or should I go with some thing more mountain bike like the trek 7300?

I have a Trek 7.5 FX which has a carbon fork. I do most of my biking on limestone trails and the carbon fork makes a noticeable difference with trail vibration and impact. Personally i hate suspensions for anything but real off road, they add to much weight that you dont need.
