My nice Gazelle frameset that Sloar lovingly refinished.
Going on two years now and I can't decide how to build it.
At least I know I have a project ready to go.

Gmg, you need to build up that Gaz and ride it. If it is anything like my c.m. it will be a real go-fast'er. Put anything you like on it as long as the wheels are great.
I'm going to ride mine for tomorrow's commute.

I have a nice Gran Sport/Nuovo Record groupset sitting here with all the trimmings.
I really like the way your's turned out JM and I have certainly seen some good looking examples on the forum.
Maybe before school starts in the fall.

Thanks! IIRC from the Gazelle catalogs, they weren't especially equipped with all Campy stuff, but rather could be had with high-end Shimano stuff. I figure that's permission to build it however you wish!

18 Years!
I built this touring frame for myself back in 1975. All it needed was to have the seat stays brazed on and paint...
I resurrected it in 1992 and had Ed Litton paint it for me. All of the parts were saved up for years so it only took a day or so to assemble.
It rides and handles exactly the way I designed it to do back in 1975.
Now all I have to do is get some down tube decals made for it....

@gomango, that's a gorgeous frame...
I have 2 NOS Gazelle frames that I bought from a seller in The Netherlands in 2008 and 2009 so I guess they're getting a little long in the tooth!
How about a thread on 2nd and 3rd longest builds?
The first one is a 1973 "A" frame. The seller ran a "pro" shop that he closed down and was gradually selling off his stash. In our discussions he mentioned that Gazelle had a specialty department where they built all of the top end frames. They could be purchased as complete bikes but many were sold to bike shops as bare frames to be custom assembled.
I had planed to build it up with NOS period correct components that would have come on an upper mid range bike from that era:
Stronglight 93 cranks, Crampy NR derailleurs, seatpost, hubs and headset with Cinelli bars and stem, and a Brooks Pro.
Somehow, I just haven't been able to pull the trigger on all of that NOS stuff...
The second one is a 1994 "AB" frame made of Reynolds 531C tubing. I have a complete gruppo in black to contrast the "Day-Glo" (florescent) lime yellow-green. It's not as sacred as the 1972 frame...
I guess that it's time to pick a date and build this one up...

Sloar did a very nice job on this paint and it looks fantastic in person.
Fwiw I've had three forum members contact me me offline with interesting ideas for a build.
Maybe this early winter after I pay the kid's college tuition pyments.

Bikes: too many bikes from 1967 10s (5x2)Frejus to a Sumitomo Ti/Chorus aluminum 10s (10x2), plus one non-susp mtn bike I use as my commuter

I have an Albert Eisentraut that was given to me back to the early seventies. I set it aside back then because I wasn't sure what I was going to use it for, then put it off because I had a fork I liked. It's still waiting on me, and now I'll have to decide whether to spread the rear triangle. So does 40 years sitting on a hook count?

took me over 2 years to restore corky and put it together. I built my own frame in March 2013 and didn't get it built according to my original vision until about May this year and it still will get some changes and has temporary paint for the time being. I picked up a rocky mountain blizzard and edge over a year ago now and both are still frames though many of the parts have been collected in the last year. THe blizzard will probably be another couple years before it sees dirt and the edge I hope to put together this winter. Of course these things all take a back see to the regular tare downs and maintenance of the commuters, winter bikes, mountain bikes and annual road bike overhauls... keeping a fleet for two people is a lot of work. I just scored a second used park work stand because the price was right but I have already used it for it's intended purpose, for small repairs and maintenance while a longer term job is ongoing in the other stand.

Started in 1995, when I bought a Bridgestone MB-2 frame from a friend. Been "thinking" and collecting components since then. Had the frame re-painted last year and, this January, started putting everything together. Many starts and stops, but here's what it looks like today (just needs some bar tape - that'll probably take another 20 years!).
