Big Fat Dummy
It is a real thing. I dont need one, but there is lust in my heart.
I have a fat bike, it is fun but not an errand runner and I dont have a rack on it. Winter commuting and it is my mountain bike.
I have a daily commuter with folding walds on the back and that is good for any shopping and errands I do.
I have a burley trailer when I want to bike a few tools over when I do some boat repair side jobs, haul kegs, bales of hay etc.
Big fat dummys not available til April-ish. Hope someone orders soon and we get a ride review then.

all those cheap walmart fat bikes are popping up in pawn shops, craigslist, fleamarkets, etc. sort through the home built extracycle thread and see what you could adapt to a fat bike. I've got a couple slated to meet my sawzall eventually.

I have my Pug now and a Big Dummy on order right now. And with the price difference, I think I would have still gone with the BD.

My LBS was saying $3,400 on the BFD and $2,400 on the BD. I am thinking $1,000 difference. He said the BFD would be around April also. It looks like we are all in the same boat in reguards to waiting. Have seen a nice write up or two on the BFD at the Fat Bike site I think.

Who would use this? Fat tires are slow, but have their uses. Cargo bikes are slow. Double up slow?

From what I've seen through the grape vine, the BFD will be around $3,000 and a few will be available as early as mid-February. Personally if you are really interested in one go to your LBS and put one of them on order, so you are on a preorder list.
