Mount rack on new Cdale carbon road bike.

It has disk brakes and some sort of new-fangled dropout that doesn't have a slot for the wheel or mounting holes for rack. Any ideas how to fit a rack on this bike?

With a carbon bike, my choice would be to not mount/attach anything to the carbon. If you have an alloy seat post, You might mount a clamp-on style rack. Or maybe some sort of frame pack. Others might have some ideas, but for me, nothing clamps or messes with the carbon frame..

Ah the true cost of choosing a bike with little practical function usually becomes known after the gee wiz wears off. Harsh? Only if you want the bike to do something that it wasn't made for.

I agree that a seat post rack is the easiest solution, however weight limited they are. If the bike uses a carbon post replace it with an Al one. Not knowing how much stuff you want to carry a handle bar bag might work, but the added weight up front/high up and well forward of the steering axis can make handling wobbly sometimes. Another possible solution is one of the "newer" bikepacking bags.

What tire widths and spoke counts does the bike have? These details might also limit how much you can reliably carry. Andy

Try here. Use the drop down lists at the top of the page for your model C'dale. https://www.cyclingkinetics.com/prod...29447957545046

Bikes: Too many. Giant Trance X 29, Surly Midnight Special get the most time.

Honestly you bought a bike that poorly suits your intended use. What do you need a rack for? You might be able to carry what you need in a bikepacking style frame bag or saddle bag.

Crankycrank's suggestion looks legit (and expensive).
