lol, this happened to me once, except I was touring, and had to backtrack 10 miles, and was still in the middle of nowhere with no food and no water except a few powerbars and beef jerky. And I had to climb the adjacent pass the next day. Luckily there was a resort (with no restaurant or food shop strangely) where the workers were having a meal together that they shared with me.
