I flat out hate the bars, and they are not long for this world... they will be in the trash soon. I'm torn with keeping the bike stock vs upgrading - but I think I need to do a few upgrades.
Getting the hoods in a decent spot has been a struggle - I went by stock pics from the Lemond catalog - the hoods are way down low on the bars.

For the 9 speed Shimano stuff, my target is to have the levers vertical. That puts the hood sloping up, which seems uncomfortable, but somehow it works on those old school bars with the crazy steep down-sloping ramp angle.

Man, there's a bunch of weird bar/hood position combinations on these bikes.
The black Emonda:
-Bars need to be rotated down a pinch, and the shifters need to move up a bit on the bend to keep them in the same location. The handlebar ramp angle shouldn't be positive. Oh and not bar related, but I think this one might be hotter with a flat top bearing cap and a non flat stem.

The cap and spacers are for warranty compliance per my dealer when I had the steerer cut. When I bought this bike in 2015 I could only find an H2 frame, so I needed to drop the bars as much as I could, therefore the -17˚ stem on this bike's 73˚ head angle - bought me almost half an inch, which is a big deal to me
The alternative is an integrated handlebar / stem, but Trek's offerings are all -7˚, which pretty much defeats my purpose

This is a stem flip away from greatness.
These bikes are so awesome, I remember when they first came on the market around ~2006ish, I remember thinking they were FUTURE BIKES! I'm impressed that the components are holding up though--those wheels are notorious for cracking at the spoke holes of the rim and those cranks are bad about wallowing out the splines on the non-drive side and falling off.

Good observation, I did actually use portrait mode. Didn't even notice that when posting on my phone, but now that I'm on a desktop I can definitely see it. I'll have to do better next time!

You can switch off the "portrait" mode on the pic you took. Alternately, sometimes you can get back the details you want by adjusting the F-stop setting.

Serious hot potential, but could be better staged. I find the unfinished background a little distracting. Your valve stems are out of alignment, your cranks are not level, and the bar tape doesn't go with anything else on the bike. A final touch would be trimming the steerer to have no more than one 5mm spacer above the stem.
