leg pain

I have noticed that when I do my 10 plus mile rides my right leg hurts. Yesterday while out riding I watched my self and paid attention to my body. With my right leg I am wanting to pedal with my toes, and can't make myself stop. I have raised the seat a little bit and experimented but to no avail. Any advice. I tried to use the ball of my feet, just behine the toes. Where should my feet be on the pedals?

You should pedal with the ball of your foot or maybe just a tad farther back.
Clipless pedals will keep your foot in the correct position.

I wonder why I can't keep my foot in that position. Iwill try to retrain? myself. If that doesnt work then I will Try new pedals.
