44 Mile Loop. Casual but long for me right now. SGRT South from El Dorado Park to PCH, ;PCH South to SART and then North on the SART to Taft/Ball Road. Then West down Ball Road to El Dorado Park. Not many people on the SART. Although, with the relaxing of the social distancing regulations it appears there is more traffic on PCH than there was a week or two ago.

66-miler starting on the east side of the 5 freeway in san clemente. avenida pico to avenida la pata/antonio parkway all the way into rancho santa margarita and mission viejo.
it had been 5+ years since i last did the 1984 olympics road race course (essentially 9.5 miles around lake mission viejo) so mixed that in. headed back to the beach via alicia parkway
and hooked up with the aliso creek bike path all the way to the aliso/wood canyons wilderness park. first-timer in the park so did the 6 mile there and back (pretty in there right now
with great pavement), then back on alicia pkwy angling over to crown valley pkwy and pch. pch to dana point, then coastal through doheny state beach and back to san clemente.
nice day. plenty of cyclists out.

Today I rode from Oceanside harbor to Leucadia Blvd. and back. I noticed a few bikes exiting the 5S at Harbor on the way out. Not sure what that might mean? Nice clean surf with no signs of the red tide left. Lots of lane chaos in N. Leucadia with the usual mess at La Costa with additional lane closures on N bound and S bound lanes due to tree trimming and underground ops of some kind.

Left Encanto at 0630 and rode up Sierra Madre and did the GMR-GRR road to Mt Baldy Village. All gates are open and roads are in great condition. Looks like the Mt Baldy Lodge is re-opening. Got there at 0930 and the doors were closed but employees were inside.
Came back via GRR and made the right on GMR to take East Fork back to Hwy 39. Not a very smart move. Major construction project north of East Rd/Hwy 39. Must have been passed by 20 dump trucks and a couple water tankers. Had the usual blasts of wind down 39 back to Encanto.
Cateye registered 62 miles and 6500 ft of climb. Steady stream of riders out today. Good to see!

Left behind Huntington Beach wetlands and rode down to Crystal Cover (in and out through Newport peninsula etc). 37 miles in all. Rode with my 2 friends and they came in really handy when I had a rear flat about 7 miles from the finish. It's nice having someone hold your bike while you take the wheel off and having another set of hands mounting the tire back on.
Added: BTW, it was the first time I've used a Co2 cartridge to fill my tire. Boy am I sold on these things. I've been a dope for so long using a mini-pump and pumping that thing for 700 strokes just to get it at a reasonable pressure. Co2 is going with me everywhere from now on! A complete shot from a 16gm cartridge go my 28mm tire right up to 90 psi in seconds. Right where I needed it.

I did another Oceanside Harbor to Leucadia Blvd. and back loop. It was a nice ride. The detour at the pier in Oside is gone. The underground work at La Costa is ongoing with NB and SB lanes closed and a bike lane of cones set up.

Huntington Beach to Balboa Peninsula, then the ferry to Balboa Island. Then a complete trip around the Newport Back bay. By the time the 3 of us got back we had logged 35 miles.

Rode from Encanto to Icehouse Canyon via GMR/GRR on my steel road bike. Covered 60 miles and 6.8K feet of climb. I only encountered one motorcycle and one minivan in the descent all the way down GMR/GRR. People must be shopping and getting haircuts again instead of clogging up my bike path.

El Dorado Park > South on SGRT > South on PCH to Jamboree in Newport beach and back, 43 miles. A lot of group riders out on PCH today. Seems like it's getting busy again. But, this was Saturday. Riding PCH through Newport isn't quite that bad right now. With a lot of the stores still closed there are long stretches where there aren't any cars parked, thus creating a virtual bike lane.
I'm pretty happy with myself because I'm 12 miles away from having a 500 mile month (and we still have tomorrow!).

Probably more detail than necessary but:
Point Loma > Mission Bay > Rose Canyon > UCSD > Carmel Valley > Ranch Santa Fe > San Elijo > Solana Beach > Torry Pines > Point Loma.

Stayed local today in the La Habra Hgts -Whittier Hills area. Covered 46 miles and 4700 ft of climb. Just trying to ride harder and insure I find a few hills to get gassed on. Cypress Ave/Avocado Crest to Skyline and Kashlan/Chota-Fullerton Rd are nice climbs -short and punchy. In case you did not know, La Habra Hgts has about a dozen streets named after types of avocados.

73-miler partially in the el cajon/lakeside/8 freeway foothills and, with the inevitable late start, the heat found me bouncing back towards the coast.
didn't have it today and very few moments of cycling bliss. nice to be out but a slow struggle the entire time.

Did 28 miles down to Huntington Beach Pier with a buddy. Got home and realized how dirty the bike has become and decided to clean it up. Cleaned the chain, took the headset apart and opened up the "sealed" bearing and re-lubed everything. Getting ready for tomorrow.
