Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Isadore Apparel?

Anyone own anything from Isadore?
How is the fit? Construction? Feel?

Would appreciate feedback from US riders who may have ordered from them - delivery speed, customer service, etc.

Never heard of them but I like their styling. Interesting material, like half merino wool.

So I am dragging this thread up from the dead to see if anyone has anything else to add. Sy Reene got me interested in Isadore and the price on Wiggle seems decent enough. Any feedback on their bib shorts is especially appreciated.

Thank you.

Ah well. I did some googling around and the consensus is quality gear. Plus I like the look of their jerseys/bibs. I am sure I'll pull the trigger soon enough.

Funny enough, DHL showed up today with the Isadore Woolight2 jersey. Very nice, soft and very lightweight. Given the merino content, I think I need to be a bit warier of doing anything too abrasive to this jersey.

Some nice touches including the 4th zippered pocket, silicone gripper in Isadore script, etc

I have bib shorts and bibbed insulated tights. My sister got me hooked into the brand as she has done copy work for them. I really want to love the stuff, but there are a couple issues:
+ Really solid quality. Great materials, great stitch work, and no premature wear with 1-2x use per week (machine wash, line-dry)
+ Very comfy in the saddle as the chamois is great in each pair
+ Good styling, very basic and not selling flashy style to make up for anything
- Fit of winter tights was not true to size: I am a MED in the summer short but could only get into a Large winter tight
- Summer bibs have an odd friction point right above my junk and rub me raw on hot steamy days in the summer (seam is too rough up the middle and I scream in the post-ride shower)

But I continue to ride with the shorts and come winter the tights are my go-to in really cold days, when my insulated Castelli bib knickers won't do.

I recommend this brand, though be sure to size up for the tights.

Cheers

Great feedback AMGwagon

Sy Reene I am liking the look of that jersey! I foresee one in my near future. I look forward to hearing/reading about a post ride report.

Sure thing.. hopefully will get out in it this weekend. Unfortunately a quick look at Wiggle and this jersey has seemingly jumped in price by about $30

How do you think that material will hold up with back pockets loaded? Think it'll hold in place pretty well or more likely to sag?

Good question with this ultralight weight. I don't carry too much myself -- wallet, phone, food for each of the 3 pockets respectively. i'm guessing a bit more sag than usual, but will report back if anything negative. There are a number of heavier weighted versions that they seem to have that probably would stand up better to more heavier laden pockets. If they're constructed with the same quality, and am guessing they are, I'd say go for it. Eg. if I were to get another right now in a standard weight, probably one of these:
