Is it really? I was really confused by the last digit being 7 on the headbadge number which would match both the decal styling and the Reynolds decal (gold bar at the bottom, no TI logo) as 1977.
Did some do a weird refinish to that, then?

This is the real deal, crank, stem and frame are optimistically worth the ask, never mind if the HS, SP, etc. happen to be, pretty sure the HS might be and the crank alone if the BB is good and one of the Paramount stamped ones is staggering.

not so much hipster madness as preying on the desperate. these typical "gaspipe+stem shifters + turkey wings" that are usually 100-150 in NYC (and free-$50 elsewhere) are now listing AND SELLING north of 300. A lot of this is simply exploiting ignorance, as new-to-biking folks have zero idea of what theyre looking at or what would normally be paid for it.

Ah well, at least rents are dropping a bit, right?

That's sad, 'cause there was a Pinarello Treviso, I wanted to buy full early Chorus, just needed wheels, nice original paint (sans decals, of course), for $400. I just couldn't get in to town on Monday. I would have posted it here but he had some one coming after me, and the listing disappeared.

Why do Viscount ads always treat the mention of the "death fork" like it's a selling point? Who want's to pay a death fork premium? Anyways, I think this might be the guy who polluted our CL with the same overpriced Giant Kronos for years. Maybe instead of calling them a flipper you could call them a flopper.

This thread started 11 years ago with over 19,000 posts. It’s been really good, informative and fun. Yet a few recent posters put it in jeopardy by posting political comments. Most are long time members that know better. If you want to discuss political issues, that’s why we have P&R. This thread and the most everything else here is about cycling so let’s keep it that way. Thanks

Dolan track bike, fixed gear. Size small (50cm) - $750
https://columbus.craigslist.org/bik/...176371691.html
Selling my Dolan track bike. Size small (50cm) I’m 5’8” and it fits me great. It is fixed gear but wheels have braking surface if you wanted to add brakes. Frame and fork have holes drilled for brakes. Aluminum frame and fork. Lots of cool parts on it, quality stuff. Bike was built and hardly ridden, I have too many. It has less than 100 miles on it.
Perfect condition!
Any questions at all just text me
Six one four, 625, seven123
I imagine he's answering LOTS of questions along the lines of "why mount a giant porteur rack to a track bike", or "how well does it stop without brakes while loaded?"

Heh, just you wait. A handful of "track" bikes popped up on the list today, with nary a brake between them. This one made me 😆, because I can't figure out where in the process of putting this together they felt a porteur rack was a good idea. Blackburn rack on the back? I get it, some folks want to commute fixed. But, this too small bike with a too long stem, chewing into that rack's useful space? indeed.

The fever dream top of the line Ross
Have you ever ended up collecting a handful of higher end components, but could never put a full gruppo together? This seller found the solution!
Or they really wanted the Campy Triomphe group it came with...
Just throw them on any old donor frame and sell the whole lot at Ebay prices!
https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...1090707723228/
$800
Lugged steel frame, Sugino crank 50/41t, Bulleye sealed roller bearing bottom bracket, Suntour Superbe sealed bearing pedals, Campagnolo front derailleur, Shimano Dura Ace rear derailleur, Shimano Dura Ace indexed down tube shifter, Suntour Winner freewheel 15-16-19-23-28t.
Wheels - Veloflex Corsa 25, Wilber Super Champion Alpine rims,Bulleye sealed bearing hubs, QR, 36h.
Brakes - Grab Compe calipers, Cane Creek levers.
Other components - Cinelli cork tape, Sakae handlebar, ttt Stem, Shimano Dura Ace headset, Brooks Swift saddle, Campagnolo seat post. Includes Seat bag, pump, water bottle holders, and water bottles. Large Frame - 56 to 58cm.
At least the indexing should work

It popped up on a Hail Mary search for "superbe". I nabbed a late superbe pro RD for cheap and I was trying to get a feel for what's available, and the type of bike you'd find those components on. A Ross signature 294s was an unexpected result, thanks to those pedals.
Don't the pedals and the saddle account for half the market value of this bike build?

So was the seller's right hand offset to the right one key? Or is it auto-correct poetic justice?

Either you don't use craigslist, you're a bot, or you're from mars. Some sellers will write in their ad, "yes, it's still available!!" in attempt to stop the spam. It doesn't work. We still get trolls trying to get our info, like phone numbers. Maybe you have no idea how bad it can get, or you would never ever (ever!) ask a seller, "is it still available?" Yes, it's still available! That's why it's listed.
[I answer his two detailed questions here which could have easily been answered had he looked at the pics in the ad.]
Hope this has been helpful for all your future craigs correspondence.

Even worse is Facebook marketplace where the "I'm interested" or whatever button for potential buyers sends the "Is this still available" message automatically.

Facebook marketplace sellers are exponentially more likely to fail to remove a sold item from the marketplace, compared to Craigslist sellers. They also generally fail to include useful information, like bike size.
