I would suggest looking on YouTube or perhaps even the "Spin Doctor" page of the Performance Bicycles website. They host a ton of DIY videos that are very good at showing how to perform all sorts of maintenance on your bike.

While Performance Bikes offers the lifetime adjustments on your bike, there's nothing like learning how to do something yourself. Having said that, I took my Absolute back at 500 miles and had them adjust everything simply because I was going up there anyway to pick something up I had delivered to their store to save on shipping and to spend some of my accrued points.

This thread describes the extent of my tinkering with the brakes so far. I don't know if it will be of any help to you or not.

Update! Got a few miles under my belt and switched to 700x35 tires. So far I like them. They absorb my local terrain much better and I dont have to worry so much about dodging things. They also did great on a small section of gravel I ended up on. Heres some pictures:

They sure do make the bike look different compared to the 28s. What brand are they?

They are Forté Metro-K Road tires. They are nothing fancy but they were priced good at Performance Bike and I had a bunch of credit to use from the bike purchase. So far so good!

Thanks. 4-1/2 stars with over 50 reviews -- can't be too bad.
