Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I battle kudzu in the summer when I cut my lawns. Bermuda grass is dormant from mid October to mid April.

I think the craziest kudzu I ever saw was on NC-28 heading to Fontana Dam. Anyone ever driven it?

I've been thinking about gloving. Seems like a win win. I don't carry anything in or out. I would glove up as I exit the car.

Yeah, that’s a bum deal. I went to an all boys catlick school and we didn’t have a prom, and over the years every now and then I bemoaned that deprivation. For a long time.

But who knows, considering how inept I was with girls at the time I prolly avoided a prom disaster leaving lifelong, debilitating scars and all.

I make sure to really tire my puppy out by playing ball throw n fetch before bedtime. She’s good til 7 am.

Of course throw n fetch won’t work on cats. Just one more reason why dogs > cats.

No season means weights again. Acclimating back from little bits of weights as maintenance, to almost a full blown workout, is tough.

Because they're not dumb enough to be manipulated by a little piece of wood?

Trails were briefly open this morning since it froze last night.

First ride on my new frame, its so much smoother than my old aluminum frame, but still has an entertaining short wheelbase.

To quote datlas , it was 100% fun
