New front wheel in old forks have an offset. Advice needed.

I've just fitted a new 700c front wheel into the old frame i am using for a single speed buildup. The wheel and tyre runs true but it is offset from the center of the forks. Its about 7mm from the center of the brake fixing hole to the center of the tyre.

Looks wierd.

Any comments would be appreciated.

Yes, we all know...

Either your fork is bent or your wheel needs to be re-dished.

Flip the wheel around - if it's off to the same side, your fork is bent. If it's off to the opposite side, your wheel needs some work.

try putting the wheel in backwards. If it's offset the same way, it's the fork. If it's the opposite way, it's the rim.

Idiot-proofing here, but make sure each side of the axle is completely in the the dropouts and tightened down properly.
