Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Powertap - 1 CPU, 2 Wheels, Issues ?

I have 2 wheels, but only 1 head unit (cpu). If I set up 2 bikes with the 2 wheels to share the same cpu, are there any calibration issues or anything to consider when switching back & forth ?

It's an older wired unit, 'SL' hubs

I'm not sure how the wired units work, but the wireless models are bonded to a specific hub. If that's the case, you'd have to re-learn the hub every time you switch. If that's not an issue, I'd think you'd still want to re-zero the torque every time you switch.

Why didn't you just stop there? There are plenty of people with wired units who know how they work.

There's nothing to learn on the wired units. Any CPU will pick up any wheel. The only thing to watch for is different wheels may have different zero offsets so it's especially important to manually zero the unit before each rider. This is true even if the head is showing zero power or torque. Torque could be negative and outside the auto zero range, but the head unit still shows zero.

Do you mean by pressing both buttons down until the "--clr--" is displayed ?
Thanks

No. I mean torque zero not clear the memory. See page 12 https://www.saris.com/pdfManuals/308.pdf

Because none of them had responded. It seemed reasonable that there was a non-zero chance that the two units behave similarly. Thank you for correcting me.

Wired = doesn't matter. As mentioned just zero the torque.
