The 'Wild Atlantic Way' isn't specifically a bike route. It's a concept, a marketing strategy, a branding of an already existing route.
It's been very successful and other areas and 'routes' are now being given the marketing make-over.

you guys know I was kidding right? I rode once down the west of the States, Oregon and Cali. and the "coastal" road often had some real steep climbs every time a river came out to the ocean, a steep down and a steep climb up again...I suspect the landscape here is the same, constant ups and downs, and short steep stuff.
am I wrong?

djb it's a tough route climb up the Healy pass is a killer on a loaded touring bike, cliffs of moher and molls gap is another couple tough old drag's or climbing ,yeah lots of hills but scenery is stunning as long as the sun is out.

Toured Ireland just before the euro became the national currency....
Man, that placed has changed a lot since then, especially for the daily budget. But one thing remains the same....the Irish are the friendliest people I've ever met anywhere.
