Two German Shepherd puppies were just euthanized in our area last month. Both had contracted rabies from a bat, it is believed.

Too bad more people don't realize they are being irresponsible for having an untrained dog. Obedience training is tantamount to a child's education. Something most parents recognize their children can do without.

Of course that wouldn't stop dog bites, but at least that simple bit of precaution would make those events a whole lot less frequent.

Sad the couldn't be saved. If I ever get another dog it will likely be a GS or more likely the even more loyal and popular Lab.
