Peugeot Versailles, probably '88

Hey all! I'm new here obviously - my father passed away recently and I'm trying to determine how much (and where) to try to get for his original road bike that I've been using for many, many years. I'll be upgrading to his more serious one, and don't really have room to keep this. Since I've done some basic research, I know that prices can vary wildly depending on the area; I live in Orlando.

This is a Pugeot Versailles, I'm guessing around '88 (based on some basic searching - it's the green color), and that's really about all I know. Please ask questions, I'll answer it to the best of my ability. As I cannot upload photos until I get to 10 posts, I can only offer to email any that you would like to see. Overall, I believe the bike to be in good condition with minimal rash on the right fork (I have a close up of this specifically).

Some of the information I can read off of the bike frame and parts (that I have photos of):
Brakes and gearing - Shimano SLR
Pedals - Nervar
Frame - Mangallon HLE
Seat - patent Specialized V-Groove

I thank you in advance for your knowledge!

Trying to identify an old Peugeot, even with the model name written on the top tube, can be a frustrating exercise. I have looked through many catalogs and don’t see a Versailles that looks like yours. They all seemed to have been built as upright city bikes such as the one pictured here from 1989:

But then, Peugeot sometimes used the same name for very different bikes in different markets. In any case, your bike was made using Peugeot’s own HLE steel frame and has relatively inexpensive components. The seat, at least, is a replacement for whatever was on it originally. I suggest it is worth perhaps $175 if it is cleaned up, lubed, and ready for a buyer to get on it and ride.

Thanks for the replies and the link to the replies! I guess I'll just toss it on CL and see if I get any attention. Cheers, all!

Sure!

$150 - $200 for a Peppermint Peugeot Peugeot Versaille
$200 - $250 for the Two-tone Peugeot Versailles

$350 - $450 if you add a frame pump, seat tube pack, top tube pack, flashlight and 3 water bottle cages (water bottles included).
