Probably the latter, since he has the Vitus Guercotti priced at $300, and Colnago for 200.

Looks in pretty great condition, for the vintage.

1990 17" Kona Cindercone virtually never ridden, Unbelievable shape, new tires as the old ones succumbed to rot and seat as the old one disappeared.

Complete 21 speed Suntour XCD with rear SE Pedterson self energizing brakes, Ukai UMT-17 rims

This is a pretty bike. Surprised to see one in here. I'd hope for 300+ for mine, despite the tattered decals.

Well, that's why I'm posting it, and not burning rubber towards Fresno to buy it. I agree about the parts, I personally would junk most of them in favor of something usable. So to me, this bike is $200, plus at least another $300 in parts just to make it ridable to my standards.

1985 Trek 660, 22.5". Listed as '600 series'. $180-

This one looks like it was once appreciated. There are some original components like the Ofmega crank (which I recognize from reading @JohnDThompson's post a couple weeks ago), Modolo brakes (L/R cables are reversed here), Sugino seatpost, and maybe the Stronglight A-9 headset. The rear derailleur is a Suntour substitution and the front looks like Shimano 600, as do the DT levers. I think those are DA Shimano Look pedals as well. Bummer about the mismatched wheels.

The bike would need some attention, no doubt. I suspect lossy image compression is not doing the red finish any favours here, though I wonder about that mark on the back of the fork-

As for the reversed levers, that's a thing sheldon himself advocated, since he wanted to signal to traffic with his left hand and brake with the front brake.

Man, with all the bikes I have I can easily adjust to STI, Ergolevers, DT shifter, friction shifting, etc. But reversed brake levers always mess me up and the few bikes I picked up like that were quickly fixed.

^^^^^ +1, and throw MTB thumbies, grip-shift, and a fistful of trigger-style systems into the mix. No problem adapting. But reversed brake lever assignment is a recipe for an endo.

Mislabeled Carlton, looks like one of the late 60s models with the fancier lugs. Paint may not be perfect. NDS picture is potato quality, but $60 start.

...from reading the ad, I got the impression that it is only the frame and fork that are for sale, not the bike as pictured. I bought a "frame only" six or eight years ago from some kid out in Woodland. From his back story, (I always try to gently work my way into the back story,) I'm about 90% sure that it came up from his uncle in LA, who got it as some partial payment on a drug deal.

It had been stripped of the easy stuff to get off, but because these guys don't usually go to the trouble of removing crank or headset/fork, It had enough of the original stuff on it to make an OK bike.

Here's a photo of the finished product, after some hours and parts were added.

It's interesting to me because a GT steel road frame. which I don't see around that much. If anyone reading this from LA thinks it's your bike, PM me. I hope this won't kick up the everything cheap on CL is stolen memes, because I know this to be untrue. At the same time, there are certain deals you stumble into on CL (usually in places that are kind of obscure and hard to find), where you figure the bike/frame was stolen somewhere along the line, but it was so far back in history that you're puzzled about whether it's better to rescue the frame from the sad situation, or pass on it and avoid touching anything with bad karma associated.

Admittedly I go back and forth on this. I'm kind of a moral relativist.

1968-69 Raleigh Tourist 3 speed - $150 (Bellevue)

https://seattle.craigslist.org/est/b...000531877.html
From what I have found out about this bike, it is 1968 or 69.
All original except aftermarket lights and kick stand.
3 speed
Brakes are operated by linkage, not cables.
Complete, but needs total restoration, or air up the tires and ride as is.

I've had this bike for over 25 years and will never get around to
giving it the love it needs.

$150 obo

I have reversed levers on two of my bikes - my Super Le Tour and my Grand Jubile.

The only reason that they are reversed is because the brake calipers on them have the adjustment barrel on the left side, so to me non-aero brake routing looks really silly if I have the brake levers set up left/front and right/rear. I really need to see the cables cross or it looks so wrong.

I did it for a purely aesthetic reason. It doesn't bother me because generally where I ride I do not need to aggressively brake like if I was in traffic or something, and my Grand Jubile has a fixed drivetrain so I do not really use the brakes much at all on that bike.

Full Campy Triomphe/Victory (wheels supposedly included) Univega Italsport, local pickup in CA, $100 start.

Potato quality pics, but the frame looks overall good, needs new dropout screws, ditch those bars and a little general rehab.

0-feedback/0-sale eBay account though. Description says they have the wheels on-hand.
