Overnighter to Jacksonville tomorrow. Upper 70s and Sunny. We're finally getting some much needed rain here today.

That happened to my iMac. Hard drive wore out. It was around the same age. Fortunately, my GF at the time worked with a guy who was a real genius. He opened up the thing, extracted the hard drive and was able to save all my photos with the help of software you could license for about $75. That's a fraction of what a data recovery service would likely have charged. When he attached the drive to some diagnostic tool he said it was the most messed up drive he had ever seen.

Yeah. Or is it bulletproof??
In any case, the current one has served us really well for 8ish years, is an HP. Google says HP is the best budget PC for 2019 so leaning that way. Looks like you can get a CAAD 105 level PC for about $500 which won't break the bank. I would love an iMac but that's more than twice as much. That's Ultegra/Dura-Ace level.

That's nothing. I got a phone call today telling me my Social Security had been suspended due to a glitch. I was instructed to press 1 to talk to an agent who would straighten it out. Not to call the SS Administration, but rather to press 1 for an agent. I was then warned my benefits would be permanently terminated if I didn't take care of it as instructed. Yeah, right!

I'm waiting for a call back from the guy from Nigeria, so I can get this all handled.

Hey @MoAlpha, I had an interesting case yesterday. Patient was very upset that he was losing his mind. Story was classic for episode of Transient Global Amnesia. I was able to talk him off the ledge.

My favorite “easy” diagnosis is subconjunctival hemorrhage. It’s common and harmless.

Another satisfying one is a radial nerve palsy with a wrist drop, which prevents making a fist and mimics hand weakness unless the wrist is supported. I once “cured” a stroke diagnosed by a community neurologist in the mother in-law of a serving Vice President by making that diagnosis in about 15 seconds, and was a minor hero for a morning. There is more to the story, which I would share over a pot of good tea some day.
