Got a GIOS, show it...
In celebration of "Cyclotoine's" newly completed GIOS let's have a "show it if ya got it" GIOS thread.
Here's mine complete with original build tags, no miles and full panto group. Changes coming include a white Concor and white bar tape.

Oh man I want a super record with the whole kit like those. Otis your bike is to die for and I see you ride it... pro-fit pedals... I use those too.
Mine can't compete with these but here it is anyway. All the GIOS I have seen have been really consistent. Incredibly clean lines finely filed lugs.. no hick-ups anywhere... I can justify keeping mine around because it is my girlfriend's size but really it's more of a show piece but it hardly seems like one in comparison to the above. Last weekend I finished polishing a set of 32H C-record hubs I plan to build up with DB spokes to Mavic newer logo GL330s... anyone know of a blue tubular? Always good to have extra wheel sets.

Here is mine! I just finished building it up. Ok it's not really vintage but the frame is relatively old and lugged. The frame has been repainted and the rear triangle has been chromed by Marinoni. The wheels are noisy as hell but I kind of like it, it tells people I'm coming. I plan to change the shifters to 10s Record when I find some spare $ .

Nice, looks great. I've been considering doing a vintage frame with current components. I recently saw a custom steel bike at LBS that wieghed just under 17 lb.s (built with super high-end stuff) and got my wheels turning.

Here's mine. Like mainducoyotes one but in a yellow (why... ) colour and with a not-as-nice internal cable routing. I love it. The geometry is interesting. Mostly 8sp veloce with crank/hub upgrades.

There's a beautiful blue Gios, quite similar to KRhea's, in the window of Conrad's Bike Shop in New York City. I've been coveting it for years. If it was my size, I'd probably ask if it was for sale and what they wanted for it.

I'd like a compact gios frame, I think TUZ up there has one. Ive got a short torso and long legs so it would be perfect for me. No fair, that type of geometry is pretty normal once you get into the 58+ cm bikes, but all 56 frames seem to have have 56 top tubes (which I can ride W/a 10 cm stem, but still..).
Then when you get into the smaller bikes the top tube is always longer over the seat tube for some reason.

My Gios
Hello,
this is my first post on this forum. Below is a picture of my Gios Compact with full C Record (1990). The changes from a picture are a white Regal saddle and chromed ahead stem. Will attach updated photos as soon as I get to taking some more pictures. Meanwhile, enjoy this one.

Nostalgia! This is me on my 1987 Gios Professional, and in 1987 too. Lovely bike, but the toptube was really too short for me, despite the 58 seattube. Sold it for not enough a year later ...

Here's mine. It belonged to Nitz's stoker partner. Bought in '84 or 85, maybe 86. But I think its an 82.
