Got my Schwinn 9 hole rack from a straightbar for my 80s Chicago Schwinn Cruiser Last Friday and installed an old amber jewel. Bike is coming via Fedex in about 5 daze. No tires yet, lotsa time.

Replacement Panaracer Pasela for the front of my Peugeot. Stupid mechanic (me) had the Mafac brake pad misaligned and burned a hole in the front Pasela (with only 200 miles on it). Need to fire that guy!
It just didn't look right with one Pasela and a Schwalbe Marathon up front!

Don't try this at home!

For me: a set of SKS fenders for wife's 26" wheeled roadie, a pair of diamond shaped fender reinforcements, pair of Campagnolo front hub axle assemblies, pair of Clement NOS Stretto tubulars.

Wrenching: drilled out nearly 1/4" hole through a stuck steel cotter pin, and I bought a few round files to continue thinning the stuck cotter, from the inside!

I'd be tempted to stick some sort of wonderglue in there then a patch on the inside and small piece of cardboard. I don't think I go on a century but I suspect that tyre has a little more service in it.

That dopey mechanic owes you a sixer of good Ale too!

What's even dumber is that I blew out a spare tube when it first happened. I didn't see the sidewall cut, put in my spare, blew up the tube ... and blew up the tube! The hole is bigger than it looks, and the tube extruded right out and popped.

For the Eisentraut, a pair of brand new GC610 calipers scored from eBay for just under 50 bucks. And a gorgeous SR Royal stem thanks to a forum member! @dmp

Interesting how it blew on the "wimpy" sidewall warning graphic.

I understand the busy at work situation. Been there. But oh man, I wish you would have bid more lol, I felt bad for the seller. He had a BIN price of $120 which still would have been a decent deal seeing how they go for upwards to 80 bucks a piece. I cant imagine he made a penny on them them. More likely he took a significant loss. I feel like his marketing was pretty weak. It was a sleeper ad for sure.

I am glad to hear you've got a nice set of breaks on the way though. What set exactly?

Some vintage GC610’s. They are a more appropriate look for the project honestly. Package is one the way, I’ll throw some pictures up soon.

And yeah, that auction was a little rough haha. Couple blue boxes and some metal in a plastic pouch?

Continuing on my Peugeot saga, I got my "new" Simplex derailleur from France today. Smart money said dump the Simplex with the broken tension spring, and go with a Suntour VGT Luxe. I had the VGT all polished up and ready to go when the correct Simplex popped up on Ebay. $85 BIN, free shipping. I decided to go for it. I really like the looks of that Simplex, and the VGT is always there if I need it. The jockey wheels look brand new, and it even has the Peugeot logo, which mine didn't. The shipping box said 24€ postage, so I think I did OK with the free shipping. Heres the old one with the wonky spring, and the shiny new French one.

Getting ready for spring/summer.

https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/02...f?v=1541110472

Bought the Swift Elwha/Tenkara package. Should team with the Revelates just fine on the Della Santa or the Black Mountain.

Would also team nicely with my vintage Kvale tourer that's on the front burner.

BTDT. Prolly on more than one occasion... Maybe that's why modern bikes have disc brakes or brake surfaces the width of the 405.

These arrived today, O.M.A.S. Big Sliding steel axle hubs, really light at just under 470 grams complete. I have a strange attraction to hubs...

Also received is a nice new Huret Jubilee Bottom Bracket Cable Guide. This test fitted nicely on the Teledyne frame.

Last summer I bought a French bike that was in a state of disrepair. No plans for it then, or now. My main interest was in its parts anyway as the frame is a little tall.

Anyway, one of those parts was the full drive side of a TA Pro Vis 5 triple. The left arm had been replaced with a Nervar. It took a while to finally find what I needed at a reasonable price, but this morning it arrived!

Looks like the Eisentraut has most of it’s central drivetrain now.
