First ride of the summer
Well, the doc asked me to ride this weekend. First ride since early June, so astronomically speaking is my first ride of the summer.
One year ago, rode most of the Mt Shasta Summit Century. 100 mi, 10K altitude gain, well into the 90's.
Yesterday, 5.3 miles, maybe 5' of altitude, upper 80's.
Guess which hurt worse.
Got a long way to go to find fitness again, but being on the bike is such a good feeling.
Oh, yea, take a wild guess at which morning after hurt more? As my son would say, this is lame!
Moral: Avoid car crashes, insurance companies, and land wars in Southeast Asia.....

Once nice thing with cycling...fitness comes back to you as fast as it goes away. Good luck with the recovery.

Glad you're finally back on the bike.
Have fun.

Many of us have had unwanted lay-offs, some under our control and others not so much. Glad to read you're back on the saddle. Follow directions, proceed with caution and may the force of Froome be with you.

Oh, btw, you forgot another thing to avoid, "Never go against a Sicilian when death is on the line!"

That's great that you're back in the saddle. As they say, no pain no gain. Perhaps you should join Team Bozo to get around that. Our motto is "No Brain, No Pain."

No Brain, no Pain - along the lines of the tune "If you're gonna be dumb, you gotta be tough."
At least the pain ended when I pulled in to the Chatoe Rogue, a pint does help change the attitude toward the better.
