Why are thread icons allowed in only a couple of the forums?

Are you referring to emoticons (smilies, exclamation points, etc)? And which forums are you not able to use them?

Open up the General Cycleing forum. The column immediately after the new post column is the "Normal Thread" column. Then open Fitting your bike. The 2nd column shows a thread Icon if one is chosen when creating the thread.

OK, yes, that's the field I meant. I would guess that it's because the "Fitting Your Bike" forum is more informational, but @Siu Blue Wind might have a different answer
