Sales promotions timing

When do places like Jensen start having big sales promotions? I may hold off on buying if the big discounts are right around the corner.

Last year I let too many good sale prices go by -- always hoping for lower -- and ended up w/no new bike to ride this current season.

FWIW, I don't really have a good feel for when closeouts happen. There seems to be a lot of variability, actually, and I just take them as they come.

Their prices rarely drop beyond 40% and will hover over the 30% off range for sometime
They won't likely discount them until a newly designed model shows up or is just a poor seller or long time leftover
Which bike are you looking at? Don't wait till your size is gone.

Thanks. Nothing in particular, still trying to figure out what I want exactly. Last year, I found a brand new Niner Air 9 for a crazy low price at Jenson and didn't get it; didn't have the funds at the time regretfully. Hoping that I can find a similar deal this year.
I'm a Newb so really am narrowing it down to a Trail Bike; leaning towards full suspension but due to cost am now considering a hardtail. I'm 56 and was told a FS would be best for my back fwiw.

That Niner pricing was likely due to their bankruptcy last year. It won't repeat.

Many brands are announcing their 2020 line-up. As these bikes start to appear in stores the 2019 line-up can get serious discounts. I've seen some 2020 bikes in online stores, my guess is that in some months the 2019's line-up will get some (serious) discounts.
