August 14th Rockleigh I think by Yehuda Perlowitz? Focused. I found one of gsteinb in the same location on the course from the race before mine on their website.

No, not yet. I was there last week and my wife raced the ITT and had to go into the oncoming lane to miss a bison.

bummer--sorry to have missed you. no ride for you?

i've been there when a herd of bison decide to cross the road; took 45' one time before they moved. would have been pretty unfortunate if that happened during the event -- would have ruined the results of many fields.

did your wife have fun/have a good performance?

Those shoe covers are huge. I guess living in wyoming they double for cowboy boot covers

hahah.

think so? forward position on the TT bike makes it look like the toes are down at DBC, so that makes 'em look longer. they're the same height as others i've used, but these are rad.

No road nationals for me this year. She was 3rd of 12 and liked the course. Her team, Sisterhood of Cycling, won the overall best team so they were all pretty stoked.

Existential suffering. Sitting up high, going to the far outside on a downhill corner and not pedaling. Still no one will come around. go-go 20mph road racing.

at CCCX, Jeff VanderStucken with the pic.

Just after some suffering, almost halfway through Henleyville Road Race, we decide it's time for a break.

My wife doing the feed at the bottom of Pine Creek. Looks easy, but after 60mi and 10k climbed I'm already suffering. Though, my legs are a delicious shade of bronze. Eat your heart out @mattm !!

this position for 90 minutes each day gave me sore eyeball muscles. No kidding.

nice kit and that looks painful. Why deep back and shallow front (wheel)?

day 2 was forecast for rain, primarily on the first climb which features the aforementioned 50+ mph descent. I chose being able to brake on the alu rim and not die over the aero of the carbon clincher.

Nice pics ... guessing that is Round Valley Elementary in the upper pic. Mt Tom's north ridge is making a slight cameo in the background. While not on a bike, that route is a slog (~7500 feet) with many false summits, but a great test of endurance and willingness to climb blocky scree for several hours. No real route finding skills needed either, just go up.
