I have owned and raced on the 9 last year, in about 5 days or so I'll let you guys know what I think about the 10 when mine gets here, but with the new bike placebo I am sure it's better than the 9 already, on top of the fact that I am just another guy on a bike so my opinion doesn't matter much.

Me too! On my CAAD10, the seat stays are not pencil thin. I consider the 2009 SuperSix HI-MOD to have pencil thin seat stays as well as Cervelo CF bikes (cannot recall the model).
The differences I noted from the 9 to 10 are twofold. Fist, the rear seat stays with the tech incorporated from the Synapse dampens the road without giving a disconnect feeling that I occasionally (not often) felt with the 9. Second, the tapered head tubes delivers a more solid feel that I appreciate when descending curving passes going 40mph and more.
Would I say the 10 is an upgrade over the 9? Yes. Would I say sell the 9 and buy the 10? Only if you want the latest bike. Would someone be happy with the 10 to replace a 9? Likely yes as long as one excepts the bike for what it is.
Me, I love my CAAD10.

Real world opinions from people who've actually ridden both extensively!
Thanks!

My take on this is that from reading the forums, it seems to me that there are 2 types of CAAD 9 riders: those who bought it for the ride quality and those who wanted a stiff, lightweight and expendable aluminium frame. Hence, responses depend on why the bike was purchased in the first place. For those in the second category, then I think the CAAD 10 is fine for them but not for those of us who fell in love with the ride quality.
While some changes with the CAAD 10 do correspond to current bike design thinking, it does seem that the brief behind the CAAD 10 was to design a carbon bike using aluminium, which Cannondale`s engineers have achieved with distinction, rather than how can we develop the CAAD 9 even further.
I`m still suspicious as to why if the CAAD 10 is so great, Cannondale didn`t keep manufacturing the CAAD 9 alongside it or were they were worried people would keep buying the CAAD 9 over it, kinda like an XP/Vista thing.
Likewise, my main concern is the durability issue. So I am another curious observer waiting to see if tubes start cracking, frames unable to withstand crashes...

Can I say the same with my previous CAAD9? Absolutely. Would I be happy if I had it still? Absolutely. But as I mentioned in my short review, the CAAD10 has minute differences that I appreciate, but I would NOT tell a happy CAAD9 owner to sell and buy the CAAD10 ... get the CAAD10 when the CAAD9 is done

"I would like to add my 2 cents. I graduated from a full-time
welding school (1000+ hrs of instruction) some time ago.
I have been a certified welder for over 25 years,
having passed structural as well as x-ray weld certification.
Having examined the Caad’s (pre-Caad 10’s) already made in Taiwan,
I can tell you that there is no comparison to the weld
quality when compared to the American made Caad’s.
It’s obvious to me that when you look at the American made Caad’s
that they were made by a welder who was a true craftsman.
This may be a precursor to problems down the road."

Having ridden both for a short time....the 9 felt stiffer and lighter than the 10..........of course mine has a few upgrades.......but if you look at this it clearly states differences.......https://spinzonecycling.com/m/about/c...tudy-pg267.htm
From what I understand vertical give......good......horizontal bad.....and if I'm reading this right it says the 9 is better in both.....

Welding talk aside, I feel like the 10 is probably an awesome bike but slightly under built. The top tube seems to be the weak point here. I've seen this on the interwebz before and recently happened to a friend of mine. Leaning the bike agains a pole caused a small dent in the top tube! Not taking crash or dropping the bike. The top tube is apparently very thin on the 10 bikes. Love my CAAD8 with optima tubing. It's not very different from the 9 and feels well made and solid while weighing 1188 grams for a 54cm frame.
