I remember seeing a student rolling one of those into the elevator on move in day at Dobie during my freshman year in '89.

I think I had the first 4000 in the Charlotte, NC area. It was used at the bike show downtown when it came in. I broke that frames after a couple of years riding. Kestrel supplied me with another. Finally cracked that one also. Kestrel send a 200SCI as a replacement.
Loved the ride, loved the bike, hated the cracks.

So has the 200SCI survived? Curious 'cause I've got one I just built up last year.

First one cracked early on, Kestrel sent another 200SCI. That was 15 years ago, still going strong.

I think you'll be fine, the one I have now has been through a lot of abuse and holding up great.
