I bought very cheaply selle italia century it seemed cool because of forged aluminum rails but turns out they are terrible I can't clamp them, they are not standard, way too thick (when I try to clamp there's huge gap between top and bottom part). I'm gonna try find longer bolt because stock is way too short for it but still not sure if it's safe to have such big gap I think they should be fairly close, what do you advise? Some guy told me about some carbon seatpost but this is old bike 1 inch seatpost, it won't work.

The Cinelli aluminium-railed saddles are a bit like that, but they still fit ok in a campag seat-post.

I guess I have to sell it I should got turbomatic I have one but it got worn out and suspension fell out on one side had to stuff there some rubber.

looks like the rails are easily replaceable - probably with only the same! haha. maybe not?

with the original design two bolt post,usually not a problem, with the later single bolt designs, one may need a longer fastener. I would not consider it a problem with a quality bolt.

Those are just oval rails similar to the Flite Ti saddles of old or carbon rail saddles they make today. For seat posts that clamp on the side there are adapters that can be purchased but these saddles like to be clamped from the top and bottom.

IIRC, the standard rail diameter is 7mm. My Lotus came with a San Marco Concor Superleggera saddle, which had 8mm diameter solid aluminum rails, so the standard clamp will work poorly. Add to that the limited fatigue life of aluminum, as well as the age of the saddle and guess what? One of the rails broke, right where it exits the clamp. I guess it was asking a lot from a 30 year old saddle whose rails were white with corrosion, that it should last under my 200lbs for very long.
