Polygon MTB For Winter Commuting

Been around the MB on and off this year and with Winter lurking around, I'm in search of a decent Winter bike that I can commute in the ice and snow and not spend beaucoup bucks on while getting decent parts and performance. Came across Polygon bikes with decent Shimano components and prices. Has anyone own this brand and now do their bikes compare to the well-known brands like Cannondale, Specialized, Trek, etc.......? Anyone comments are welcome.
