Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Totally reasonable. You've saved more than that by keeping the same bar tape for seven years.

I have a set of FSA aluminum bars on my road bike. They have flat sections on the tops, not for aero, but for hand comfort. The drop is also shallow enough that I can live in it for miles on the flats. I love them, but they might be expensive.

I use FulGaz because it appeals to me more but my feelings are similar. I find myself struggling on grades that though hard in the real world, don't make me go. "Oh, ****!" like on the trainer.

Less rewarding visual stimulation or something. Everything's easier IRL.

I know the 17% grade I hit yesterday in Central Park seemed pretty effin real, lol. That sucked at a whole new level.
But holy crud as a training aid. Wow. Thats a great workout.

I dunno. Seems about the same to me. What I have found, though, is that with my Snap, everything over 12% feels about the same.

I had to retighten my headset after the 17% effort yesterday. I pulled on the bars a little to hard I guess. Knock ,knock, knock after that the rest of the ride

You are a beast.

I have paranoia over my headset. I always think it’s loose when it is not. I wonder if they have groups for this?

You talking NY's Central Park? Zwift made that hill 17%? The only significant hill in that park is at best 10% IRL.

Pcad would confirm. RIP :

I've got a lifetime warranty on the frame, though.

Are flat tops more comfortable than round?
