In need of a long enough shifting cable for my 3 seater tandem bike
If anyone can assist in helping me find a long enough cable, preferably longer than 2 meters, that would greatly be appreciated.

Jagwire and Clark (and probably others) make longer cables for tandems that are 3000mm in length that will work for you. A quick search pulled up several tandem cable options.

Jagwire has shift cables longer than 4 meters in both Shimano/Sram and Campagnolo ends. Shops that deal in recumbents are more likely to have longer cables in stock(in non-COVID times anyway). Cable splitters allow use of more readily available "half bike" cables on on long bikes.

Cable splitters, used on S&S coupled bikes are another option. Splitters allow you to use two regular length cables.
The nice thing about using them is that you can replace a broken cable with a single length cable, which is more easily sourced, a particular advantage if you travel with the bike.

The nice thing about cable splitters (splicers, really) is that you don’t have to replace the entire expensive
long cable when it fails. Cables break where they bend over the shifter drum and also, if you are using a Shiftmate, where the cable winds around the two split pulleys. So by having both ends replaceable independently, you save money. The cable splitters are surprisingly expensive though, at least in Canada, so don’t expect to heat the house with what you save on cables.
if you are handy with taps, it is easy to make your own semi-permanent splicers from solid aluminum rod salvaged from an old carrier rack and a few small set screws. The aft end of the splice is a headless cable, such as one removed because it was starting to break at the head. The rest of the cable will be good for years.
I wouldn’t trust my handiwork for a rear brake cable but for shifters they work fine.

I’ve had no problem finding cables for our recumbent tandem from online sources. Don’t think I have needed one this long but it’s available: Bikeman Jagwire Sport Derailleur Cable Slick Stainless 1.1x4445mm SRAM/Shimano Tandem
Less certain to be able to find extra-long chains or cables locally.

As others have noted, cable splitters are well worth the cost for a tandem or triplet IMO, as it makes it much easier to source cables, especially if you are traveling/touring away from regular sources.
