I do carry Halt with me just in case, but I have so far out-run all the dogs that have chased me. I figure the Halt is only going to be effective if I can be accurate with the delivery. Riding a bike and pointing a spray can accurately (not to mention wind direction) do not seem to be compatible with each other.

Rabbits. There are literally dozens of them on any part of any of my commuting routes. They are evil. They sit along the edge of a path or road, seemingly minding their own business until you approach. They then decide there are better places to be - places directly in your path. Quick and skittish. One caused me to endo, bolting out from the side, stopping DIRECTLY in my path, leaped up into my cables (I kid you not), then bolted. I lay on my back, incredulous, wondering what happened as a string of unintelligible obscenities spewed from my lips (something about Watership Down having no plot and the Easter Bunny not being real).
I have outrun mangy dogs and even a bear. Foxes mind their own business, as have all the coyotes I've met. Rabbits flat out suck.
EDIT: Wasp spray wards the dogs off, and I hope I never get to test it on a bear.

I'm very cautious with deer on the side of the road. I fear aggressive dogs. I was bitten once and now I am prepared to unclip, get the bike between me and the charging animal, and adminster an aluminum shampoo with gusto.

Country dogs. Now that I ride more gravel it seems like I can't go for a ride without being chased by somebody's dog.
About half appear to be friendly and enjoy the run, they're fine. The other half snap and bite.
I normally love dogs.
Squirrels don't scare me. I hit one once, it was anticlimactic for me. I think the squirrel died.

Yes, I know Cujo was a St. Bernard, but you get my drift. Apparently I cannot outrun rabbits.

We're off to our annual stay in central Ontario next month. Black Bears are getting more numerous and I've seen a few around but not yet on bike rides. I do a workout ride every morning on quiet gravel roads to a marina to pick up a newspaper, and I do road rides as well - only a matter of time before I encounter them.
A few years ago I was divebombed several times by a Broad-winged Hawk when I was trying to fix a flat! It waited until after I had removed the wheel and the tube, of course, so it wasn't easy to get me and the bike out of the way.

Turtles
I'm afraid of turtles. Not hard to avoid, but I'm pretty sure I'd wreck if I hit one. As for the one's who've already been hit...since they come with their own little oven to cook in, they're kind of stinky.

The Ford pickup with the New York Yankee logo in the back window. Sometimes its distant cousins the Chevy or Dodge. Many scary encounters with this beast.

I hate when dogs still feel the need to bark when their in a car, that is most annoying thing in the world because they wait until their right next to me and then they bark just once without warning right in my god damn ear.
