There's a sad Speedwell for sale on Ebay:
"Speedwell Titalite" Titanium Road Bike PR6730002 | eBay

2 people have already made offers. I suspect those people may have missed:

1) The frame has probably been destroyed because someone installed a kick-stand. These tubes are very thin and not built to withstand such forces. Looks like the chain stays have been pinched.

2) This frame should have a standard RD hanger. The RD claw suggests a damaged (or drewed?) hanger.

3) What happened to the finish? It should be a nice polished finish. Instead it looks like someone went over the whole frame with 80 grit sandpaper. Also, the photo lighting is really bad, but the head tube looks like it may be dented as well.

For reference, here's what the finish should look like:

"Frame and fork with head sets weigh in at 4.1 lbs. Without the head set 3.1 lbs."

Really? The headset weighs a full pound?

But really, dude, if you expect thousands of dollars for the bike, spend at least $50 on tires and bar tape!

^Yeah, the "without headset" weight doesn't make sense. FWIW, the 4.1 lbs. for the frame/fork with headset is about right. LINK for reference.

I don't mind so much if a seller does not replace certain consumables on a "project" bike needing a full restoration such as this one. Price of course should reflect condition. But if the seller is not going to fully overhaul the bike, choice of replacement consumables is sometimes best left to the buyer. Seller may not even know how to glue on replacement tubulars in this case.

Btw, I did ask the seller about the chain stays and rear derailleur hanger via ebay. Got a quick reply saying he's taking it in to a bike shop for professional assessment and will get back to me. It's possible the seller is simply naive, and not intentionally underhanded.

yes, probably naive. same seller has other vintage-ish bikes up for sale in his eBay store, not at ridiculous prices.

They also have pretty good feedback...and a lot of categories...fully agree that they are probably naive about bikes...

I didn't catch that! I'm scrutinizing the photo and thought the frame was bent from a head on crash. I totally missed the lack of chain. I guess technically it is ready to ride, if riding means coasting.

Dammit. Just when I thought my knowledge was intermediate-level.

Yeah. The trashed frame was why I posted it. Much like you, I focused on that so much that I didn't notice anything else. Amazing what people will try to sell.

I imagine the seller had an autobike, bought the wrecked one and took the wheels, and cobbled together what was left.,,,,BD

Just yuck $2500 for a SS/FG conversion with drewed repainted frame and mismatched fork. This one is only worth about $250.
