Recommendations for an endurance bike

My lightest endurance bike is around 20 pounds and my heaviest is around 40 depending on how much gear I load them up with. My average speed over long rides is pretty much the same on either bike.

Rider is 250 pounds each
If it's not a typo I think your 250 lb plus right? Then that could impact the bike you buy because many bikes have a maximum weight often around 240 lb
Assuming, and this is a HUGE assumption, that you can get a comfortable fit on all those bikes, I'd go with the Giant. Best value combination of frame and components of the lot.
FWIW, I think you'd get a lot more bang for the buck by simply upgrading the tires instead of springing for new wheels.

A self admitted newbie only able to handle about 10 miles a day is already obsessing over weight and components but has a lot of money to spend.

Well I didn't spend that much and the reason I wanted a light bike is that I used to have a city bike before this one and it didn't give me the joy of going out. I just want to go out and have fun and a 15 kg bike discourage me a little. Anyways I bought a 9,2 kg defy and I'm really happy with it and I feel like I can ride longer distances in no time.

I really like the Defy .... opted for a Fuji instead because i got a deal, but still.
And yes, a light bike is fun, even if it is all mental. I am the same rider on all my bikes, and i honestly cannot feel the weight after i get rolling .... though I can feel the different ride characteristics, so it isn't that I am numb ... but I like having a light bike to play with, even if the only time it really matters is when I lift it to hang it in the rack.

Well something happened. The hydraulic 8070 8020 set's mount didn't match the used bike despite I asked the bike shop before I ordered it. So he give me a good price admitting this was his fault. Long story short I returned the 2015 defy and I added some more bucks. I paid in total $2500 and bought an unused 2019 defy advanced 1 with full hydraulic disc brakes and ultegra crank. I also ordered continental 4 seasons and a bigger saddle and that's it.

Go to nearest LBS, try any road bike (Specialized, Trek, Giant or Scott) and determine size. Then go to site of manufacturer, find bike that fitted you well and check frame geometry: effective top tube, head tube length, stock and reach. Go to Canyon web site, find the Ultimate or Endurace road bike with closest geometry and buy it online. Good luck!

Congratulations on your new ride. It was good for the shop to take back the first bike, which also looked very good. The Defy is a nice choice and I am sure you will be very happy with it.

Thanks man. LBS is really cool the 2019 doesn't come with an ultegra crank they gifted it too. I'm really happy with it except for the saddle. It's too small for me. I ordered a specialized power comp. Once i recieve it I will write how it goes.

You are too aggressive and your post is offensive. If my opinion is different than your it doesn’t mean it’s stupid or scummy. Nevertheless I avoid to reply properly on your words.

He's right. There's nothing wrong with test riding different bikes, when you are looking to actually buy one, that's just good shopping. But going into an LBS with the full intention of then buying online is a full on dbag move, you can say whatever you want to make yourself feel better about it. Don't waste their time, just buy it online and then utilize Canyon's 30 day return policy if that's what you want to do.

When I see a list of bikes and a "choose for me" post, I do wonder, which bike store did the OP pick? Because the brand is meaningless, they're all good, it's what LBS that supports the purchase that matters.

At 115kg you should probably look at the weight limits on some of those frames, I know some alloy frames are limited to 250lb rider and gear. Cannondale alloy at least in the topstone is good up to 300lbs
Hi guys as a newbie I'm having hard time chosing my new bike. I did a lot of research and I reduced to 4 bikes. I weight around 115kg, and I'm willing to ride around 30 miles a day as starters and my budged is around $3000.
Giant Defy Advanced 1 (2019) $3000
Ultegra group set
Giant P-R2 disc wheel set
Advanced grade composite frame
Scott Addict 10 (2020) $2700
Ultegra group set
Syncros RP2.0 disc wheel set
HMF frame
Specialized Roubaix Sport (2019) $3000
105 group set
Axis sport disc wheel set
FACT 9R frame
Specialized Roubaix (2020) $3100
Tiagra group set
Axis sport disc wheel set
FACT 10R frame
I want to make sure I buy a good frame. Wheel set and group set I can upgrade later. I have no idea how much specialized bikes weight but as far as I know Giant is around 9,5kg (which seems a little too heavy for the price) and Scott is around 8,5 kg.
Is the price between FACT 9R and 10R worth it?
Can 8.5 kg is easily achievable with giant? (I mean is it just wheel set which is heavy or should I change everything?)
Addict really has an endurance geometry and is it stiff enough for 115kg?
and info on Roubaix and Roubaix Sport's weight will be appreciated too.
Have a great biking week.
