Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

You cray cray. It's probably going to be in the low 20s out your way Saturday morning. I may grind some gravel out in the Wissahickon on Sunday. The club is having an open house in Chestnut Hill. Supposed to get up the mid-50s.

Anybody know what the story is with the Zwift trial period? It says it's a 7 day trail, yet they also mention 25km, which I obviously burned through on the first workout, so it's says that I've got 0km left.

It looks like it's going to let me ride some more, but I have a small window to workout later this morning, so I don't want to scramble if I need alternate plans.

Really. My wife already got POd at me this morning for thinking out loud about revising the weekend plan without due formalities and anything else is just money.

I had, of course, put off those things in favor of squeezing out the last road rides of the season, but it was looking as if I'd played it a little too tight. Looking at the forecast now, I'm seeing the prospect of sunshine and inching above freezing a few times in the coming week, so I may luck out. Fingers crossed.
I forgot to put the snow brush/ice scrapper in Mrs. rjones28's car, while prepping for winter. We got a couple of inches of snow over night.

Rouvy has a permanent free ride option for 1 hour at a time. It isn’t fancy, no pretend road riding, but all the important data is supported.

So I was cleaning out some stuff from a box in my office and found this. Probably 1992 vintage at the end a two-day charity ride. IIRC, it was miserably wet on the first day. The second day I did the century route (that red ribbon was your century prize) and it was hot and humid, hence the look.

Mine went well over 7 days and the game just paused at 25 km and resumed after I put the money in.

I'm a chocolate chip muffin fan. Blueberry comes in third after raisin bran.

On the bagel front, genuine pumpernickel is far and away no. 1, followed by an everything bagel, then all the rest.

Like most humans I'm a carboholic.

Like you, this unexpectedly cold and snowy November has left some late fall outside work unfinished. Have four saplings, several perennials and a bunch of spring bulbs unplanted. Pots haven't been emptied which puts them at risk for cracking. Had to trudge through the snow to get my non-awesome shovels from the shed.

Thinking of getting a single stage snow-blower, but also need a real chainsaw as there are about 9 trees that need taking out, including the one in the front yard that died from a lighting strike. Suspect that with the WAF / finances should only get one. The lighting strike is quite visible as it blew a 3" side strip of bark off the entire way from top to bottom.

Well, it's letting me ride Richmond (come at me bro @Dan333SP) while doing some interval work. And what is it about the prospect of sprint intervals that elicits a feral grin?
