1980s Bianchi Road Bike Appraisal request
Hello Bike experts! I am wondering if you could please give me an idea of the value of my early 1980s Bianchi Road Bike.
Model: Bianchi Special
20" Columbus tubing frame
25" Ambrosia Elite wheels made in Italy
Campagnolo Novo Record derailers
Modolo America brakes
Bike made in Italy
I bought this bike brand new in the early 80s and it was lightly used at that time. All original. It's been hanging in my garage for 30 years.
I have the serial number...don't know if that's important to the value.
Any information you guys can give would be great! Thanks.

It looks like a nice bike, in great condition.
Some modern reproduction brake hoods, new bar tape, and some cleaning would help a bit.
The bike appears to have campy shifters and derailleurs. The cranks are an off-brand. I can't tell the brand/model of the hubs.
Do you have cracks in the Derailleur Jockey Wheels?
While the colorful vintage Bianchis are nice, the Celeste ones are also very characteristic of the brand.
I'd put you somewhere around $300 to $500. It will vary somewhat by location. Also this is the off-season for selling, so if you're planning to sell, leave it hanging in the garage for another 5 months or so.

You also get 5 posts per day for the first 2 days, then after than you can post to your heart's content.

Thanks so much for your reply and for the information. I'm near Toronto, Ontario. Those are the rims that came with the bike. Nothing's been replaced or changed from the original. Again thank you for sharing your expertise and for taking the time. Much appreciated

Hello and welcome to the forums. Where are you and the bike? The color is off but the tubing type, brakes and derailleurs make it sound like a 1985 Nuovo Alloro.

I think Colnago used a lot of Campagnolo parts. But, Bianchi used a greater variety.
There are these on E-Bay listed as Ofmega with Bianchi script.

Although they are apparently marked "Strada" on the back which I thought was Campagnolo, although, perhaps it simply means "Road".
1985 has to be awfully close to the transition from grooved cranks to cranks without the grooves.
