Non Diaper shorts
Oddly enough, I'm looking for a brand of shorts that do not have the thick crotch pads. It seems that everything I can find has this bulky, thick @ssed pad that I don't really need, and that feels weird as hell. I swear sometimes the friggin' pad hangs on the front of the seat when I'm trying to push off! All I want is something like the old chamois anti-chafing panel. Do any of you know where I can look?

Aerotech Designs. They're even having a 20% off sale this weekend.

If shorts grab on the nose of the saddle then they don't fit. Try a different brand with different or better cut.
Triathlon shorts are going to have thinner padding.

Boure pads are pretty thin. Their thinnest is their most expensive. You can also look for real chamois - Kucharik will sew on in for $45, I believe. It's very tempting

Dang, If I had known that's a diaper, I'd make a lot less stops.

As an alternative to buying expensive cycling shorts, I have a couple of pairs of padded undershorts with very thin pads. I sometimes wear those under a pair of regular shorts and the pad isn't too visible. I can also walk quite comfortably whilst wearing those undershorts.

You might give something like these a try; https://www.roadrunnersports.com/rrs.../12421/?cc=001
I don't need a pad of any type. I have several pair of Pearl Izumi running tight shorts I bought as they were being discontinued.
